If an emergency evacuation of this building becomes necessary an alarm will be sounded, followed by an announcement on the broadcast system. Staff and students should follow directions of announcements. Law Faculty Emergency Floor Wardens will check all offices, classrooms and toilets and advise occupants to leave the building immediately.

1.	Take all important personal possessions with you (you will not be allowed to re-enter the building until the emergency is over);
2.	Proceed to ground floor level using either of the two fire stairs on each level Do not use the lifts!
3.	Exit and assemble at the Village Green in front of the Sam Cracknell Pavillon. Check that everyone you know to have been in the building has evacuated.

Re-entering the building:

Announcements will be made via loud speaker system to keep evacuees informed as to the nature of evacuation and the clearance to re-enter building.
Staff will always re-enter the building before students.


STUDENTS & STAFF WITH DISABILITIES

Students with disabilities impairing movement are to be accompanied to the fire stairs by closest available staff and should wait there. The staff member should inform the Floor Warden who will dial security direct on 56666 to alert them that disabled evacuees require assistance. Security will then alert the attending emergency staff services personnel who will assist with evacuation.
