The German Law Alumni Group now has over 100 members in Germany and neighbouring countries such as Switzerland and Denmark. German Law Alums regularly meet up for drinks and dinner in various locations throughout Germany. Each year we join with DeAN -Deutsch-Australisches Netzwerk e.V, for an annual reunion. All European Alums are invited to this weekend long event which always proves to be a great way to reconnect with old friends and build new networks in Europe.

German Alumni Activities

	The big European reunion is run each year in cooperation with DeAN. The last reunion was held in Cologne in September 2008 All UNSW Law Alums were invited to attend and a great time was had by all. A similar reunion weekend with DeAN is planned for next year in either Leipzig or Zurich.
	The Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt groups meet regularly for DeAN/Law Alumni gatherings.
	Past events included a guided tour of the Commerzbank Highrise - one of Frankfurt's most famous Skyscrapers and a visit to the Lufthansa base at Frankfurt airport.
	A news update is sent regularly by e-mail.

Alums from Germany and neighbouring countries are encouraged to join the German group. Please note that there is also a local group in Switzerland (contact: Dr Ueli Sommer). There are several regional subgroups within the group to accommodate for the large geographical spread of Alumns in Germany and Central Europe. Local groups are currently set up in Berlin, Hamburg, the Rhineland area, Munich and the Rhine-Main Region around Frankfurt.

Law Alums in Germany have been fortunate in that there has been a general German-Australian Alumni Association - DeAN -Deutsch-Australisches Netzwerk e.V. (www.dean-online.de) active eleven years. DeAN, a multi-disciplinary network operating both Germany and Australia wide was originally established with the assistance of UNSW's Study Abroad Office and has encompassed UNSW Law Alumni from its inception. The German group of UNSW Law Alumni is working closely with DeAN, using its infrastructure and experience.
