The Swiss Law Alumni Group now has 15 members in Switzerland and works closely with neighbouring countries such as Germany and Denmark where a further 100 Law Alumni reside. The Swiss Law Alums meet up for drinks and dinner each year and join with the German Alumni to take part in the DeAN -Deutsch-Australisches Netzwerk e.V, annual reunion. All European Alums are invited to this weekend long event which is always proves to be a great way to reconnect with old friends and build new networks in Europe. The 2006 reunion will be in Frankfurt on September 8 – 10.

Swiss Alumni Activities

	In 2005 Swiss Alums gathered at the Outback Lodge in Zurich. The Swiss alumni met for a cold beer and dinner in one of Zurich's favourite Australian places. This was a very enjoyable evening.
	We join each year with Germany for the main Alumni European reunion in cooperation with DeAN. This was held in Berlin in 2005, Frankfurt in 2006 and will be in Munich in 2007 . All UNSW Law Alums in Europe were invited to attend these reunions which always prove to be a great success.

The Swiss chapter was established by Ueli Sommer in 2004. During 2004, two gatherings were organised including a visit from Audrey Blunden, the newly appointed International Postgraduate Representative, in September 2004 during which a guided tour in the University of Zurich was organised. Currently, the chapter is aware of approximately 15 alumni’s living in Switzerland, but there should be more. Hence, if you have not been in contact with the Swiss Chapter so far please do so as soon as possible (usommer@wwp.ch).

The Swiss Chapter is in close contact with the German Law Alumni Group. Members of the Swiss Chapter are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Reunion in Frankfurt on 8-10 September 2006 (held jointly with DeAN - Deutsch-Australisches Netzwerk e.V.). The programme promises another fantastic event and I hope many of you will participate. The UNSW Law Faculty has kindly agreed to sponsor an event at the reunion. Simone Degeling, Senior Lecturer at UNSW Faculty of Law will be attending the reunion. For further information or to register please look online at www.dean-online.de
