Joanne Moffitt completed her Arts/Law degree at the University of New South Wales in 1995. After graduation she worked for 6 months at the Environmental Defenders Office as a graduate law clerk. After her admission as a solicitor she worked as a generalist solicitor at South West Sydney Legal Centre in Liverpool and Campbelltown Legal Centre. She was registered as a migration agent and was a volunteer at the Immigration Advice and Rights Centres outreach at Cabramatta. In 1999 she was seconded to the NSW Working Womens Centre for 6 months as the senior industrial liaison officer where she consolidated her knowledge in employment law and practice.
At Kingsford Legal Centre Joanne supervises students undertaking the employment law clinic and organises and participates in the employment law class program. Throughout her work in community legal centres she has been actively involved in community legal education and in the policy and law reform work of the human rights and employment law sub-committees. She is a community legal centre representative on the NSW Industrial Relations Commissions Users Group.
