Kingsford Legal Centre is part of the University of New South Wales as well as being a community legal centre. Kingsford Legal Centre runs a clinical legal education program whereby students from the Law Faculty study the operation of the legal system by working for clients of the legal centre. The Centre provides services on a state-wide and local basis and undertakes education, policy and campaign work to promote equality of access to the legal system in Australia.

The Centre is a community legal centre which provides free advice and referral and ongoing assistance to the residents of the local area. The Centre takes on cases where there is no other source of assistance or where acting for the client will benefit the community by achieving change in the law or government policy.
