Kingsford Legal Centre provides advice to people in situations of domestic violence. In some cases it will also represent women at court who are trying to get an apprehended violence order against a family member or boyfriend / girlfriend. The Centre is also active in law reform and education around the issues of domestic violence.



Police

If you are at immediate risk you should contact the police for help. They can tell you about criminal charges and/or an apprehended violence order. You should call 000 or your closest Police Station.



Domestic Violence Line

You can also contact the 24 hour Department of Community Services Domestic Violence Line: 1800 656 463 for help. They will refer you to refuges, police, legal help and counselling in your area.
