International exchange
Completing one or two semesters of your law degree program at an overseas institution is both a culturally rewarding and intellectually enriching experience. International exchange is a very popular option amongst UNSW Law School students, and those who complete one semester of international exchange do so in lieu of one semester worth of law electives the student would otherwise complete here at UNSW. Internships usually take place towards the end of a student's law degree program (e.g. during the 5th or 6th year of an undergraduate Law dual degree degree program, or during the 3rd year of a Juris Doctor program).
Information Sessions
The Global Mobility program (International Exchange) conducts information meetings during the semester. Each week the session focuses on a different country or area and covers relevant general information. For details of when and where the information meetings are offered, please visit the UNSW International Exchange website.
A specific information session is held every semester for Law students. Details will be published on the Law students' notice board & promoted to students via email and this website.
Application Process
The full application process for JD and LLB students is outlined on the Exchange website. Note that applications have to be lodged a year before the start of the exchange; so be sure to contact the exchange advisors well in advance to discuss your plans.
The full application process for LLM students is slightly different. Students are required to complete an application form and should contact the Exchange Office at intex@unsw.edu.au to register their interest and obtain the application form.
Law Information Sheets
Students wishing to go on exchange as part of their Bachelor of Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor degree program should read the appropriate information sheet below carefully as it contains information specific to their degree.

IMPORTANT: Effective from S1 2013, research essays completed while on Exchange will NOT be accepted for the purpose of Law Honours Nomination.
