What does the clinic involve?

Students attend the clinic one or two days per week and are responsible for working on, or in collaboration with, individual clients or organisations in Australia and Asia under the Clinic Director’s supervision.

When does the clinic run?

The Human Rights Clinic runs in Semester 1 and Semester 2, with applications opening mid-semester the session before the clinic commences. Six students will be selected for the clinic each semester.

Eligibility: Open to UNSW Law students who have completed all, or majority of the core courses. Priority will be given to final or penultimate year students. Coursework or experience in public international law, international human rights, refugee law, immigration law, public interest litigation or similar subject is desirable but not essential.

*Students will apply and undertake the 12uoc version clinic. The 6uoc version will only be offered on a case-by-case basis.
