The University of New South Wales Law Journal will launch Issue 40(4) at the Sydney offices of premier sponsor King & Wood Mallesons on Wednesday 22 November, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

The Issue features a thematic component on ‘Cyberspace and the Law’, which explores the extent to which the law has developed to accommodate developments in cyberspace technology.

We are excited to have the keynote address delivered by Dr Roger Clarke, who is a Visiting Professor at the UNSW Faculty of Law and an independent consultant in the strategic and policy implications of advanced information technologies. In 2009, he was awarded the Australian Privacy Medal in recognition of his research, consultancy and advocacy work examining privacy issues in the context of new technology. As a consultant, he has developed expertise on matters such as cyber security, electronic payment mechanisms, e-democracy and information privacy. Dr Clarke has also provided expert evidence in state Supreme Courts and the Federal Court on information technology matters.
