International Business & Economic Law Specialisation

International Business and Economic Law is the law which governs business transactions across national borders. It encompasses trade and investment law, the ways of structuring and financing transnational transactions, and the rapidly globalising legal and economic context for these transactions. These subjects are directly relevant to foreign students looking to practice law or pursue a career in business in their own countries after completing their LL.M.. The focus of the courses is on transnational law and their content is designed to be directly applicable in foreign jurisdictions. The subjects are likewise directly relevant to Australian lawyers working on international transactions. This specialisation will assist Australian lawyers with acquiring the knowledge required to structure and advise upon a range of international trade and business transactions.
