Program overview

This dual degree will equip you with the knowledge and skills to work in a variety of emerging areas that require an understanding of the law, social work theory and practice, social and behavioural sciences, community, family law and human relationships. The Bachelor of Social Work with Honours offers you an innovative and accredited program leading to eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Choose from a wide range of experiential learning opportunities and undertake an internship or clinical program at a law school that is renowned for social justice. In addition you will undertake two field placements in your Social Work program of study.                                                                                                                                           

Social Work (Hons)/Law is jointly offered by UNSW Law and UNSW Arts & Social Science.

Careers

Graduates are AASW and ASWEAS accredited and can be employed in areas including consumer protection, tenancy obligations and entitlements, land rights, child custody and family property disputes, social security and welfare rights.
