Against the odds: women trailblazing in male-dominated sports

Associate Professor Deborah Healey comments in The Sydney Morning Herald (7 November 2015) on the lack of support for women in sport.

"Australia's love of our female sports icons runs deep, but the acknowledgement of sports greats such as Dawn Fraser, Betty Cuthbert and Shirley Strickland doesn't necessarily translate into monetary reward," says Deborah Healey, New South Wales Rugby League board member and Associate Professor at UNSW.

"While women's position in sports and their presence in the media is improving, it is a slow process."
