Dr Tyrone Kirchengast speaks to ABC's The World Today (9 December 2016) regarding a Victorian law reform commission on victim rights during criminal trial.

Dr Kirchengast said, "If we can have a system whereby prosecutors are more open to engaging with victims and keeping them informed, it means the victims won't be as excluded. They perhaps will develop more functioning and satisfying, perhaps therapeutic, working relationships with these important stakeholders. But in order for that to work you do need some type of framework for victims, you need recognition in that right framework that victims matter and that victims are important and victims need to be taken seriously".
