Anne Warner (LLB ’97)

Anne Warner

Anne Warner is not afraid of change when it comes to her career. We recently caught up with Anne at the Law Alumni Melbourne reunion (26 August 2008) and here is her story.

Anne started out a fashion designer, then pursued her passion for food and opened her own gourmet food business. With a growing family, Anne sold the business and worked part-time while the children were at school.

Anne entered the Graduate Law program in 1993 via the UNSW University Preparation Program (UPP). “The next few years at university were difficult but made special by my fellow students and fabulous, supportive staff at the Law School,” said Anne.

Anne has since worked as an associate to a District Court Judge and then as a DPP solicitor in Bourke, Broken Hill, Brewarrina and Dubbo. She has been in Melbourne for seven years, initially as a prosecutor with WorkSafe and more recently with WorkSafe Victoria’s Internal Review Unit, making and writing determinations of inspectors’ decisions.

“I have had a fabulous journey,” said Anne. “And it’s never too late!”
