Every time I am asked to describe my UNSW experience in one word, I can only think of “awesome”.

Going back to study after more than ten years of human rights and criminal justice practice was daunting but my experience was well worth it. Academic life at UNSW was challenging for me yet fully rewarding. UNSW offers a multicultural environment and intensive academic research that complements my background in human rights and criminal justice practice. My LLM at UNSW enriched my regional and international perspectives on vital issues confronting different societies and the world at large.

In addition, living in Sydney for a year was a wonderful and vibrant learning experience. Sydney is a beautiful, clean and remarkable city that exposed me to a rich and diverse cultural experience. Arts, intellectual activism, exciting and colourful gastronomic adventures, stunning and magnificent seascapes and landscapes – all beautifully wrapped in one amazing city that is Sydney.

After UNSW, I went back to the Philippines and continued with my human rights work. Recently, I have been selected to participate in a mentoring and leadership program in the United States by an international non-government organisation founded by the Hon. Hillary Rodham Clinton and other global trailblazers for my ‘tremendous leadership in the fight to eliminate child sex trafficking’.

Looking back, my UNSW experience was indeed, awesome.
