Postgraduate Degrees in Law - United Kingdom, USA and Canada

To assist current students and graduates considering overseas postgraduate study in law the Director of Senior Studies has put together the following introductory information:

  • Links to websites for the main postgraduate programs in law that UNSW law students have previously asked about.  The information below is not a complete listing of postgraduate programs in law.  Further, the links to websites are for general or non-specialised postgraduate law programs.  Some law schools offer specialised postgraduate degrees in particular areas of law.
  • Links to information on law school rankings.  Law school rankings may help you in assessing and comparing programs but rankings are frequently controversial and subject to criticism.  For example, lower ranked law schools may have areas of specialisation that are more highly regarded than those provided by higher ranked law schools.
  • A list of UNSW Law academics that have previously studied at overseas institutions.  Once a student/graduate has conducted their own research into overseas postgraduate study they may find it helpful to speak with someone who has studied at the institution or in the country they are interested in.  Students may also contact the Director of Senior Studies to discuss overseas postgraduate study in law.
  • Video recordings of seminars involving UNSW alumni discussing their experiences preparing for and studying postgraduate degrees at overseas universities.
