Sydney researchers aim to identify traits of child sex offenders

Professor Anne Cossins speaks to ABC News (30 Aug 2016) regarding current research that is underway to gather insight into the characteristics and behaviours of sex offenders.

The research involves interviewing about 20 male survivors of child sexual abuse about their experiences and what traits their perpertrators possessed.

Professor Cossins said, "What victims say about their experiences of being abused is sometimes quite different to what offenders are willing to reveal.

"What I'm thinking about here is frequency of offending and severity of offending."
