Brief overview

I graduated from the University of Sydney Law School in 1992, having completed my final year at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London. I was a Legal Officer at the New South Wales Law Reform Commission before joining UNSW Law Faculty in 1994. I taught Property and Equity and Public International Law, becoming a tenured member of Faculty in 1996. In 2000 I resigned to care for my family full-time and during this period I was a regular contributor to state newspapers on work and family. I had a regular column with The Sunday Age.

I returned to the Faculty in 2005. I currently teach undergraduate courses LAWS1081 Property, Equity and Trusts 1, LAWS1082 Property and Equity 2, Strata and Community Title: Property, Development and Community LAWS3115/JURD7515 and LAWS2392 Children and the Law, as well as postgraduate course LAWS8115 Strata and Community Title.

I research strata and community title law and have a particular interest in the effect of property law on urban planning and community well-being.  I am the General Editor of the Property Law Review, with Professor Brendan Edgeworth and Dr Lyria Bennett Moses. I regularly present Continuing Legal Education seminars to the profession.
