Dr Kathy Bowrey was appointed as a Professor to the Faculty of Law, University of New South Wales, Sydney in 2007. She has previously worked at University of Technology Sydney (2006-2007), UNSW (2000-2006) and Macquarie University (1990-1999). Her publications primarily relate to intellectual property and information technology regulation, reflecting a broad range of interests pertaining to socio-legal history, media and cultural studies, and legal theory.

Current Research Projects
Current research projects include a consideration of the relevance of copyright’s categories to emerging global mass entertainment markets, a critical analysis of calls for cultural exceptions in intellectual property concerning indigenous intellectual and cultural property and the criterion of objectivity in assessing evidence in IP matters.
