Overview
Dr (Robin) Hui Huang joined the Faculty of Law at UNSW in January 2006. He holds two bachelor degrees—in mechanical engineering and in law—and a Masters degree in law, from the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing. He further obtained his doctorate at UNSW in 2005, looking at insider trading issues in the securities market.
Robin has published widely in areas as diverse as corporate law, financial regulation and commercial law, making a significant contribution to these intellectual fields. His publications so far include two written monographs, one book chapter, and up to thirty articles published in many of the leading Australian, American and Chinese law journals. He has also translated a number of English legal classics into Chinese. His research on takeover law and insider trading law has informed the legal reform in those areas. He has been the recipient of several esteemed awards such as the `Prize for Best Conference Paper` by the Australian Corporate Law Teachers Association in 2005.
Drawing upon this breadth of expertise, Robin has designed and/or delivered a number of different courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Business Associations 1 (equivalent of Company Law), Business Associations 2 (equivalent of Securities Regulation) and Chinese Corporate and Securities Law.
Robin`s work has attracted extensive interest internationally, with significant invitations to Cambridge Law School, Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, and Tsinghua Law School. He has been elected to the China Commercial Law Society and has been regularly invited to speak at international conferences and to government agencies, professional bodies and practicing lawyers both in Australia and overseas.
