After commencing my professional career as a Psychologist, I took a detour and combined part time law studies with child rearing. A few years in private practice convinced me that there is something to the old adage, “Those who can, do, those who can’t, teach”. My first five years in academia were spent at Sydney Law School. I joined the Faculty of Law at UNSW in October 1993, as Director of Legal Research & Writing. In the past I have developed, convened and taught the compulsory courses Legal Research & Writing, Advanced Legal Research and Introduction to Law, in the undergraduate LLB curriculum. I have also developed, convened and taught the elective postgraduate course Legal Research. I have taught in the Continuing Legal Education Program offered by this faculty. I have co-authored the books, “Effective Legal Research” (with Graeme Coss), Butterworths, (1998); and “Effective Legal Research” (with Graeme Coss), Butterworths, 2nd ed (2001).
I currently teach Criminal Law 1 and Criminal Law 2 in the undergraduate curriculum.
