Welcome to Semester 2 2014 at UNSW Law. We hope you have a successful semester ahead.

Please find below some key information for you for week 1 of Semester 2.


Please ensure to finalise your enrolment by the end of this week. The last day for you to change classes on myUNSW is Sunday 3 August 2014. Please refer to the UNSW Enrolment website for further information.

New international internship awards

Funding available for overseas opportunities for LLB, JD and PG students

1. Rodolfo Velasco Award: $2,500 for internship in international law and development in Asia

Provisional Summer 2014/2015 Courses

The Provisional List of Summer courses for 2014/2015 have now been published on the Law Summer Courses website.

Summer session will run from 1 December 2014 to 6 February 2015. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for further information. 

JD Core Courses

Semester 1 2014 Results are released on 15 July 2014

Semester 1 2014 Official Release of Results

The S1 2014 Official Release of Results is on Tuesday 15 July 2014. Please note results cannot be released early under any circumstances. 


Where to get results?

Your results will be available via your student email account at 9.00am on 15 July 2014. Results will also be available through myUNSW after 6pm on the same day.

Indigenous Law Student Scholarship - $7,000 available for Session 2 2014

Session 2 Scholarship for Indigenous Students - 3rd/4th/5th year LLB students and 2nd/3rd year JD students

Indigenous Law Student Scholarship - $7,000 available for Session 2 2014

Applications are now open for the AGS UNSW Indigenous Law Scholarship, a scholarship for session 2 2014 valued at $7,000, made available by Australian Government Solicitor (AGS).

Honours Applications S1 2014 CLOSING SOON

Applications for honours are closing this MONDAY JUNE 30 for students graduating in semester 1 2014.

Please complete the Honours Nomination Form on the Law website and submit with your marked research essays to Law Student Services in hard copy.

Please read the conditions carefully before applying on the Honours Information sheet.

Deadline: 30 June 2014 - Applications received after this date will not be accepted

New PG/JD Course on Trade Unions and the Law to be taught by former Attorney General Robert McClelland

A NEW Postgraduate/JD Elective will be taught by the former Attorney General and alumnus of UNSW Law, Robert McClelland.

The course titled Regulation and Democratic Control of Industrial Organisations will focus on Trade Unions and the Law and offered in Semester 2 2014 for the first time. 

Postgraduate Human Rights Internship (6uoc) in Semester 2 2014

The Human Rights Internship Program offers postgraduate Human Rights Law & Policy students the opportunity to undertake the placement component of the course with an organisation that has a focus on the protection and promotion of human rights. This 6 units of credit course is offered to Human Rights Law & Policy students in the below programs:

2014/2015 UNSW Law Moot Program Application Round

Application to the 2014/2015 International Law Competitive Moot (LAWS3086/JURD7486) & International Commercial Mediation Competition (LAWS3510/JURD7610) will open from 15 May to 30 June 2014.

The prestigious International Moot Program will see those selected prepare and conduct a mock case or mediation before an international tribunal, with teams participating in the following competitions:
