2014/2015 UNSW Law Moot Program Application Round

Application to the 2014/2015 International Law Competitive Moot (LAWS3086/JURD7486) & International Commercial Mediation Competition (LAWS3510/JURD7610) will open from 15 May to 30 June 2014.

The prestigious International Moot Program will see those selected prepare and conduct a mock case or mediation before an international tribunal, with teams participating in the following competitions:

Enrolment for Semester 2 2014 will commence from 28 April 2014

Enrolment for Semester 2 2014 will commence from Monday 28 April 2014

Semester 2 2014 Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC) Clinics application now open!

Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC) is an award winning community legal centre which is part of UNSW Law and housed within the Law Building.The Centre provides a clinical teaching environment for law students who work with centre lawyers to provide free legal assistance to the local community.

UNSW Law students can complete a Clinical Legal Experience course with KLC, and have it credited towards your degree program!

Semester 2 2014 External Internships Application NOW OPEN!

This exciting opportunity is available to UNSW Law students in the Dual Law, Juris Doctor and Postgraduate Masters programs. These courses will allow students the opportunity to work in a partner organisation which undertakes advocacy or research on aspects of policy and practice relating to an area of law. All of which can be completed for Units of Credit (uoc) which in turn can be counted towards the completion of your degree program. Watch the UNSW Law Internship Opportunities video!

International Student Support Workshops

The Associate Dean International, A/Prof Colin Picker, will be holding the first of three International Student Support Workshops this week.

First Workshop - “Preparing for Class”

Time: Wednesday, 26 March, 4-5pm

Venue: Law Staff common room 

This workshop should be attended by all Law International and Incoming Exchange students. 

Semester 2 2014 Experiential Learning Courses application now open!

UNSW Law offers a wide range of outstanding Experiential Learning courses for students to participate in Social Justice Internships, Clinical Legal Education placements and to gain valuable experience as Student Editors of law publications and journals. All of which can be completed for Units of Credit (uoc) which in turn can be counted towards the completion of your degree program!

ACEN 2014 Student Scholarships

The Australian Collaborative Education Network (ACEN) are offering five scholarships, each valued at $1,500, to assist students undertaking placements in Regional and Remote locations.

Applications for the scholarships close on 25 April 2014. More information and how to apply, read here.

Sir Anthony Mason Research Project in Constitutional Law

Applications are called for one student to undertake the Sir Anthony Mason Research Project in Constitutional Law in S2 2014.

Allen & Overy (Hong Kong) visit Sydney 24 March 2014

Staff from the Allen and Overy Office in Hong Kong will visit Sydney on Monday 24 March 2014.

They will hold an information session for students interested in pursuing legal careers in Hong Kong.
