Dispute Resolution | Law

Dispute Resolution

Dispute resolution focuses on the lawyer’s essential task in working with clients to resolve complex disputes.   As a field of study, it looks at a range of processes that include mediation, negotiation, arbitration, and litigation within the civil context and restorative practices within criminal law.

At UNSW, our teaching and research examines and critiques both theory and practice across civil and criminal contexts.  Research from Faculty members contributes to policy debates and promotes the role of dispute resolution as a central feature of the contemporary justice system.
