Undergraduate Student Welcome 2017

Commencing students of 2017 were addressed by UNSW Law alumna Babette Brophy.
Babette graduated from UNSW Law in 2014 after studying International Studies and Law . A trip overseas after graduation opened Babette’s eyes to the world of wildlife crime law. Since then, Babette has been researching the laws, policies and practices surrounding wildlife crime and management in Africa, and has spent time working with the Namibian government on rhino relocation programs.
Babette has been a producer of a 12-part TV series which covered key environmental issues in Namibia. She has also worked with the Namibian government on rhino relocation programs as an anti-poaching measure, and an elephant collaring project to mitigate human wildlife conflict in Northern Namibia. Babette has just returned to Australia to commence a new role with the NSW Government Office of Environment and Heritage.
